imageLast month President George W. Bush asked airlines to meet with Department of Transportation officials to attempt to resolve chronic flight delays. Those meetings have been set for Oct. 23-24 at JFK Airport in New York, according to the AP.

“It will be one of two sets of meetings to address chronic delays at New York’s major airports. Airlines and aviation groups have already met for several weeks to discuss other measures to reduce air congestion,” the AP reports. “The scheduling meeting is being handled separately because of U.S. antitrust law. Usually, competing airlines are prohibited from getting together to coordinate flight schedules.”
