Enormous, Phallic Flower: A Belgian Spectacle

As if chocolates, mussels and that darling Mannequin Pis weren’t big enough tourist draws, now visitors to Belgium are privy to the “giant strangely shaped penis”—an enormous (five-feet tall), stinky (think rotten meat or rancid cheese), phallus-shaped flower.
Thousands of tourists have converged on Belgium’s national botanic garden just outside Brussels to witness the flower, which blooms only intermittently and survives for a mere 72 hours, reports Reuters. Ladies may feel especially compelled to witness Amorphophallus Titanum in all its phallic glory—back in the 1800s women weren’t even allowed a peek at the natural wonder in bloom because of its appearance.
