April Fool’s Day pranksters are out in force today. Here’s a roundup of pranks from around the travel universe:
* Canada made an unprecedented offer to buy Ely, Minnesota and move it north of the border.
* Rush Limbaugh loves Copenhagen.
* Harvard Lampoon lampoons National Geographic.
* The BBC touts flying penguins in Antarctica. Terry Jones hosts the video segment.
* Finally, over at Gadling, don’t believe a thing you read today. Not even that North Dakota Dept. of Tourism ranks state “second best Dakota.”
Update: April 2, 10:47 a.m. ET: The story of a small travel Web site being acquired by a larger travel entity with a television network sounds familiar, but it’s not true this time.
