‘Giant Smurf’ Travels World, Looks Ridiculous

Whether he sang that peppy “La, la, la, la” theme song while posing in front of famous landmarks remains unclear.

In a stunt inspired by the French film Amelie, a man clad in a Smurf costume has been traversing the globe hoping to attract attention and help his company sell some 500 Smurf costumes they couldn’t get rid of, The Telegraph reports.

The whole tale is very strange, and involves the Smurfs celebrating a 50th anniversary this year, but perhaps most importantly has given me the opportunity to take a trip down Hanna-Barbera’s memory lane:
