The man behind the fast-selling anthology Europe from a Backpack is a 23-year-old traveler and go-getter named Mark Pearson. Melinda Bargreen profiled the University of Washington Business School alum in last Friday’s Seattle Times. She reports that Pearson’s focus on stories by awestruck shoestring travelers works.  “Not all of the stories would get an A in that college English class — OK, some of them might not get a B, either,” Bargreen writes. ” But they’re riveting because they are real, and they date from that heavenly time of life where freedom is a given and anything is possible.”
