‘Live for Nothing, Die for Something’

That’s the tagline for the latest Rambo movie, and according to Reuters, the people of Yangon are “going crazy” for it.

The critics may not have bought into Sylvester Stallone’s belief that the blood-and-guts action flick tells an important story about the suffering of the Burmese people, but Sly is being embraced by the proverbial man on the street. “Rambo acted very cruelly,” one Burmese student in Thailand told Reuters, “but his cruelty is nothing compared to that of the military junta.”
