I loved the smell of paprika my sister sent from Gyula, Hungary, cooked with olive oil and onions, filling my apartment. Sweet, spicy, smoky, sublime. Make shashuka, an easy tomato and egg dish, and experience the glory.

I loved the clever Film School Rejects’ interview with Jason Reitman about his pie chart of questions he’s been asked about his film “Up in the Air.” This is the interview for people who don’t give a crap about Reitman’s frequent flier mile total, but are interested in his favorite record by Miles Davis.

I loved driving through a wicked big snowstorm on Saturday, when I traveled from Massachusetts to Maine to visit a friend. I enjoyed the party at the friend’s house all the more because the trip there had been so dicey. Here’s a shot I took with my iPhone at a reststop off the highway:

I loved strolling through the old Buenos Aires neighborhood of San Telmo during its popular street fair on Sunday. Porteños were out enjoying the day, artists were showcasing their work and musicians and dancers were putting on shows—a great way to spend an afternoon. Here’s a pic:

I loved re-tracing the route of a summer road trip I took this past June, from Whitehorse to Skagway along the Klondike Highway, and seeing how radically altered the landscape is in winter. Here are two shots taken from roughly the same spot in Carcross, Yukon:
