Tabloid Travel Headline of the Day: ‘My 5-Star, High-Tech Hotel Hell’

Egad! What could the problem possibly be? Bed bugs? An unearthly scent not masked by the sweet scent of ‘unattended service’? No HBO on the tube? Nope. New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams just cannot handle the universal light switch in her plush hotel room. “Activate it and everything goes off,” she writes. “Everything. Ev-er-y-thingggg!”
She goes on:
In frustration I actually unscrewed one bulb. Who knew that was what held the shade on. I ended up with a burned hand and a fancy lamp without a shade.
That’s not all that’s covered in her strangely compelling rant. She’s also miffed at her decked-out bathroom (“All I want is a faucet. One that says ‘hot,’ one that says ‘cold.’ Is that so much to ask?”) and high-tech room service.
I guess Adams won’t be going on a Geek vacation anytime soon.
