Want the latest in hip travel gear? It sounds creepy to us, but the latest, according to Peter Greenberg, is baggage designed especially for high-security post-September 11 travel.
“As airlines strictly enforce the two carry-on rule, as security officers inspect all carry-on items more carefully (and, if you’re a selectee, they
inspect all items), the new luggage and gear is designed to pass x-ray screening, easily display personal ID, has clear windows for quick inspection, and in one case, is designed for security screeners to unpack just part of the bag they want without disrupting all of your earlier careful packing,” he writes. As for the nail clippers, they come with a smooth-edged file. “It looks weird,” he writes, “but it definitely works.”
