According to the courts reasoning, any time anyone feels threatened or there is any risk at all involved or even imagined (which is the case 99.999999% of the time), we must give up our constitutional rights. Can’t we let go of our fear enough to even look at some sort of risk/reward ratio when it comes to surrendering our rights? Since 9/11 our own people have done more damage to Americans by taking our freedoms than any terrorist could ever hope to do. There is no possibility of having both safety/security and freedom in the real world. That was true in Ben Franklins day and it is true now. It seems most people choose to have the illusion of safety. I myself would much rather have real freedom. Since we have been convinced this country is a democracy instead of a constitutional republic, I guess my freedom gets voted away. Too bad for me, so sad to see America fall into this trap.
