imageI don’t know if I can agree with the interviewee in this story who argues that “New Orleans has always been the home of civilized drinking.” I suppose that depends on your definition of “civilized.”

I can agree, though, that there’s no better home than the Crescent City for a museum dedicated to cocktail drinking in America.

The Museum of the American Cocktail opens Monday and will cover American drinking history from Jefferson’s presidency on. I’m headed to New Orleans this weekend, and I’ll look forward to checking it out—not to mention sampling some of the city’s finest.
