Built by the Byzantines 15 centuries ago, converted to a mosque by the Ottomans, and rendered secular by Atatürk in 1935, Sancta Sophia/Hagia Sofia/Aya Sofya continues to inspire. It's not a monument to St. Sophia; rather, its name means "holy wisdom."
