About a dozen years ago, I got an angry call from my ex. I’d put my pet-loving daughter on a plane to visit the inlaws.
Apparently, she’d smuggled her gerbil onboard in the sleeve of her snow jacket and it got loose on board. My ex, who thought I was in on this escapade, got quite a lengthy dressing down when he met her at the airport. There is a god:)
I asked my daughter - who knew pets weren’t allowed - what happened. She said she thought her gerbil would stay put in her sleeve, but then she got warm and took her jacket off, whereupon Henry scampered away. I gathered he caused quite a commotion. Frankly, I would have been screaming, too, with a rodent on the loose and 3 hours to go to Seattle. Ah, well…
