That RoCkS!
We should cross paths sometime this summer- Do you like horses… I could take you riding in the back country!

Great video.  As a kid and young adult, I used to laugh at people traveling in trailers and RVs. Too much like camping (and I am an Eagle Scout).  Now, I can’t wait to do this!  We should be getting our own little slice of Winnebago heaven in a few days, and we’re incredibly happy about that.  But the vintage Airstream ... that rocks!  Don’t know you from Adam (or maybe I should say Eve!), but my wife and I admire your lifestyle design.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your comments and am happy to hear there are other travel trailer fans out there!
Gypsy Girl: if I ever swing through your neck of the woods, I’d definitely go riding!
Rod: Congrats on the Winnebago! Are you planning any trips this summer with it? As a kid, my family traveled in a motorhome across the US a few times during the summer and I loved it! I especially liked that I could go into the back for a nap and wasn’t crammed with my two brothers for once into the back of our station wagon.

This brings back wonderful memories of my aunt and uncle’s first travel travel trailer, which they bought when I was three years old. Many, many good times were had in that little trailer, whether it was parked at the beach or in their back yard.

Those experiences inspired my own family to become campers, starting with a fold-out tent trailer and progressing through larger units. Today, my folks travel in a large Class A motorhome and are currently wintering on the gulf coast in Alabama. Though my own family hasn’t camped in several years, my wife and I look forward to perhaps taking to the open road again some day with our own little “house on wheels.”

Thanks for sharing. Your piece made me smile.

So rad! So jealous!  Definitely the most stylish was to travel.

Well done!
I am an Airstream fanatic since I was a kid.
I now am enjoying my second Airstream (a 1996 25’ Excella) and hated to part with my vintage 1977, 31’ Excella 500.
I haven’t towed it very far yet but am working up to it.
I want to hear more of your adventures.

Allison:  Your trailer is fantastic.  You may know of our group, Sisters on the Fly.  If you are not a member, you would fit right in.  We are a group of women (1400+) with vintage travel trailers who love to gather and have fun with our vintage babies across the country.  http://www.sistersonthefly.com  As a matter of fact, I’m quite certain the Travel Channel did a piece on us a few years ago.

Enjoy!
