We’ve already noted Travelers’ Tales The Best Travel Writing 2007, which featured stories by men and women. But Travelers’ Tales has also issued a separate volume of women’s-only travel stories, The Best Women’s Travel Writing 2007.
Edited by Lucy McCauley, the third collection in the annual series features 32 stories, including pieces by Barbara Kingsolver, Frances Mayes and Tanya Schaffer. “These 32 stories cover the globe, from wandering the Sinai desert with small children, learning to salsa in Cuba to climbing a volcano in Ecuador,” Travelers’ Tales says. “The perspectives are global and themes encompass spiritual growth, high adventure, romance, and encounters with exotic cuisine.”
Contributors will be reading from the book at a number of San Francisco Bay-area events in the coming weeks, including tonight at 8 p.m. at San Francisco’s Dog Eared Books.
