Britain: On the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ Trail

Anglophiles and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fans bound for the UK, take note: With Guy Ritchie’s new “Sherlock Holmes” movie due out on Christmas Day, VisitBritain has put together an extensive list of filming locations, with both the new flick and past “Holmes” film and TV incarnations represented.

The movie stars Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson, and looks set to add a healthy dose of action sequences and sex appeal to the venerable detective’s crime-fighting style. It’s sure to be controversial with Conan Doyle purists, but I’m looking forward to it for the armchair British travel as much as anything. Here’s the trailer:

Sherlock Holmes was unbelievable but there is a series of books called “MEG” which would make one hell of a movie. It could be a giant blockbuster if done correctly. Curious if anyone’s has checked out the new book “HELLS AQUARIUM” by STEVE ALTEN? I know he’s been a best selling author before, but wanted to see if anyone had read this book first? It’s about the ancient prehistoric shark Megalodon, which makes the current Great White Shark look like a gold fish. Check out the trailer below, pretty awesome:

Sherlock Holmes wasn’t even a good action movie. Yes, the effects were spectacular and all the CGI magic was in evidence but the story was a confusing convoluted mess. Half the time you’re saying, “where is he now?… what is he doing? … what did he just say?… how’d he get the doctor costume? … “who is this guy again?… “why does Holmes have bandages on two fingers in some scenes and not others and how did he get injured?...how much longer till we can go get something to eat?
