‘Central Perk’ Lands in London

OK, let’s see if I’ve got this right: A fake New York City coffee shop—you remember Central Perk, from “Friends,” right?—that never actually existed outside of a Los Angeles soundstage now has its very own functioning replica, in London? I’m guessing this is one tourist attraction they won’t even attempt to bill as “authentic.”

It’s not a perfect replica, but Geneva, Switzerland, has had it’s own Central Perk cafe (based off of “Friends”) for years. The cafe is just off of Plaine de Plainpalais, where the weekly flea market is held.

Now I think the first comment here says more. We’re goin to find that out soon this year for London trip.

I haven’t been to see it, but according to the pictures I’ve seen, its not at all a replica. It just has the Central Perk logo, an orange sofa that looks like the real thing, and a fake “gunther”.

Its more a promotional stunt by Warner Bros to promote the 15th anniversary Friends box set!!

However, for those in London, you can get a free coffee out of it with a voucher… so worth a look I guess, if only for the freebie!
