EU: Traveling is a Human Right

Oh, Europe. While Americans continue to suffer from Shrinking Vacation Syndrome, the European Union has declared that vacationing is a right that should be accessible to all—and its bureaucrats are working on a plan to subsidize holidays for those who can’t afford them. Said the EU commissioner for enterprise and industry: “Travelling for tourism today is a right. The way we spend our holidays is a formidable indicator of our quality of life.”

Wow, it seems everything is a “right” these days. This boggles the mind!
So basically what we have here is people who will scrimp and save to take a one week vacation a year and then we will have those that “can’t afford” to do that so they get one free??? Now, this is something I expected to see from the US of all places. I guess all we have to do is wait!
Does anyone else see something completely and horrifically wrong with this picture? The slope doesn’t get any more slippery!!!!
Something tells me to that the trip won’t be as sweet if it’s being handed to you on a silver platter and funded by those that are also funding their own vacations!
This makes me sick to my stomach!

Wait a minute!
Didn’t European Union just get out of a crisis envolving Greece almost going bankrupt?
Shouldn’t EU be concerned about spending money on banking regulation instead on vacation??????
Is this for real?
SPEECHLESS!
