I’m on the record about my love of British food, so I was pleased to find the Independent’s picks for the best spots to find the stuff outside of Britain. I know, I know: When I’m traveling, I should be pushing my gastronomic limits rather than retreating into comfort food—but still, it’s nice to know that if I ever crave bangers and mash in Corfu, Yorkshire pudding in Bangkok or a pint of London Pride in Tokyo, I’ll be well taken care of.

I was just contemplating this morning how a full English breakfast is the perfect hangover cure. One of the things I miss most about living in London. Too bad none of these are in DC!

Mmmm, a proper fry-up is the absolute best cure - agreed, Stephanie!

Isnt it just mind blowing the amount of comfort foods you can find no matter where you go? It continues to amaze me how much different cultures are blending in together all over the world….even in the smallest of ways.

How far is too far though is the question I always ask myself. Comfort food from home is spectacular now and then when on vacation, but when I see people travel to Bali and head straight to McDonalds, I cant help but cringe.
