Freed U.S. Journalists Return Home From North Korea

Laura Ling and Euna Lee arrived in Los Angeles this morning after months of imprisonment. In the Daily Beast, World Hum contributor (and resident expert on Korean prisons) Cullen Thomas sheds some light on how the happy ending came to be.

It is my opinion that the two journalists in question should be sent back to North Korea and the North Korean government should punish them to the fullest extent of the law. They broke the laws of another country and need to be held responsible for their actions. How would we feel as Americans if the situation was reversed and two journalists broke clearly written American law and then were allowed to return to their own countries unpunished?

You don’t think months of imprisonment away from anyone they know or love wasn’t punishment?  Perhaps I would see your point if they were returned to the US immediately, but that is not the case.
