In the wake of American exchange student Amanda Knox’s murder conviction in Italy this weekend, Gawker offers a “Foxy Knoxy-inspired guide” to avoiding arrest while traveling overseas. Among the tips? Never underestimate the outside world’s prudishness, and the always-cogent “Don’t start shit.”

The writer’s xenophobia ia showing.  Why not merely respecting the law and culture of other countries?  I don’t study them before I go abroad, but have never had problems getting along even with people described as rude.

In 2004 ,in the Bahamas,I had to do an emergency landing because my small plane engine was overheating.
Through difficult communications I made the mistake of landing on Kay Walkers runway before 7:00 am before there were any radio communications , which in itself is not illegal.

The runway was officially closed for repairs but fully usable mind you, they were adding patches of asphalt here and there..
The result was 35 days imprisonment in absolute bad conditions and an investigation by the Bahamian Aviation authorities which do not seem to be able to read their own air regulations nor for that matter to interpret these properly.

They appointed me a “lawyer” who was always high on cocaine and was assisted by his money man with very glassy eyes.
This adventure cost me $22,000 out of my modest retirement fund.
Do not fly to the Bahamas, do not vacation anywhere on that pirates island.

Oh, by the way, the disappearing people and boats in the “Burmuda Triangle” is only the result of piracy by Bahamian pirates ,which includes the Bahamian Cost Guards or Protection Forces, whatever they are called,

Avoid the Bahamas, its a pirate`s trap!
