Happy 100th Birthday, Ford Model T

imageFord Motor Company’s iconic Model T turned 100 years old last week, and as the AP reports, the celebrations offered a small dose of nostalgia during these dark days for the North American car industry. The AP story outlines the car’s enormous influence on social change in America—among other things, the Model T has been credited with helping to create the suburbs—but leaves out one crucial legacy: the road trip.

And don’t forget Henry Ford’s greatest gift to the Automobile industry - The conveyor belt. Probably way more important than the Model T itself.
