The backpacker trail in Southeast Asia runs right through Cambodia’s Killing Fields. An entire economy has sprung up around the macabre sights. It won’t get the ratings of the Live 8 benefit concert, but on C-SPAN2’s Book TV Saturday, author Philip Short discusses his new book, Pol Pot: Anatomy of a Nightmare. William T. Vollman wrote that the book is “of exceptional interest” in the New York Times Book Review.
