‘Some Zoos Go Above and Beyond Expectations of Horrible’

Here are a few spots to avoid on your next trip. Global Post rounds up 10 of the world’s worst zoos—places, it says, where “you don’t want to bring the kids. Or yourself for that matter.”

The list spans four continents, and includes two close-to-home North American offenders.

That’s too bad.  Zoos are a catch-22.  In one way they’re good because they can help preserve animals that may end up on the endangered species list.  But then they can be bad because animals are removed from their natural habitats and put behind bars.  If the ‘humanoids’ would learn to live in harmony with nature, zoos probably wouldn’t exist.

Some of these countires such as North Korea have difficulty feeding their people and have no business accepting animals.  Why would anyone send them any?
