Travel Weekly Tackles ‘the Ralph Nader of the Skies’

Travelers who’ve been following the fight for a Passengers’ Bill of Rights will probably recognize the name Kate Hanni—she’s one of the leading voices lobbying for an end to tarmac strandings and other issues. Travel Weekly has just published a meaty look at the activist, in which “current and former members of the group’s inner circle have criticized Hanni’s leadership, questioned her motives and impugned her credibility.”

The story includes everything from allegedly hacked email accounts to accusations of influence peddling on Capitol Hill.

Yes, but there isn’t one stitch of truth to the article.

Best to look at who is making the accusations and how they benefit from this article.

I/we have nothing to defend.  We’ve accomplished a great deal, under extraordinary circumstances and pressure, and the last words of Joe Sharkey are all I’ll cling to from that ridiculous diatribe.

Kate’s point is well taken.  Mogel plays prominently in the court records for the hacking lawsuit.  His alleged behavior raises questions, including how credible he might be as a source. I’ll bet the TW editor doesn’t even know how to get court records or do fact checking.  What an editorial joke.

In the end,  it is now illegal for airlines to hold me hostage after 3 hours. End of story.

Thanks, Kate.  Keep up the good work and ignore the attacks coming from airline industry mouthpieces and jealous wannabe competitors like Mogel who have tried and failed at starting their own “for profit” passenger rights organizations.  I certainly understand the reason for your travel budget - how the heck did you make all those trans con trips for such a small amount of money? Awesome job.
