Welcome Back, ‘Where the Hell is Matt?’

Yep, Matt Harding, he of viral-video, dancing-around-the-world fame, is back with another YouTube offering.

As blogger Corinne Bourbeillon points out, this time around Matt has ditched his trademark awkward jig in favor of choreographed flash mob-style group routines and local dance moves. The result, says Bourbeillon: The act has lost some of its initial freshness.

That was just fantastic!

That was nice, but I miss the old dance. I’d rather see him mix in a few of the new dances with the old. However, it was still a really nice video.

I ADORE the Dancing Matt videos, and I was thrilled to see he came out with a new one a couple weeks ago. I don’t think the new style is better or worse, it’s just different ... and it’s still Matt dancing around the world, so I love it!

I especially love his new video because last summer I got to watch him record some of it. Here are some out takes: http://intelligenttravel.nationalgeographic.com/2012/06/21/behind-the-scenes-with-where-the-hell-is-matt/

I still find him so inspiring! The best part is just seeing other people “out there” having fun!

I agree with JoAnna: “I donít think the new style is better or worse, itís just different ... and itís still Matt dancing around the world, so I love it!” I enjoy watching flash mobs, so that part was fine. And I think more than anything I love watching people from around the globe joining in and enjoying themselves. I’ve enjoyed watching Matt’s videos since his first one was produced and appreciate you sharing this one with us.

I think videos a rerefreshing, but I think it’s shallow and disheartening that the majority of people stop at that. There are travel narratives, and some blogs in the cybersphere that can describe the world far better than a tacky feel-good-we’re-all-one-people scapegoat video. Just a thought.

I smiled the ENTIRE time watching this feel good video. I’ve never seen any of Matt’s other videos. Why compare anyway? Matt brings the world together with dance. What a fabulous gift.
