I loved the daylong tour of northern Baja I took last weekend with Turista Libre, culminating in dinner in Puerto Nuevo. Good fun with a good group of people—and worth checking out if you’d like to visit Tijuana with a group.

The Abbey Pinnola section of Tom Rathman’s excellent novel The Imperfectionists. It starts with Abbey entering her “travel coma” at the gate before a flight out of Rome, bounces through a sequence of flight-related trauma—wrestling for the armrest, chatty seatmates—and comes to a lively conclusion in an Atlanta hotel room.

I’ve been going for some long bike rides around Whitehorse this week in preparation for the annual Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay (which runs from Haines Junction, Yukon to Haines, Alaska this weekend) and I’ve been loving the way the bike covers some substantial ground while still leaving me plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. It’s definitely made me curious to try a longer cycle tour someday.
