“Crazy Heart.” I caught the Oscar-winning flick last weekend and especially loved the road scenes, with Jeff Bridges’ seen-better-days country singer driving a beat-up truck under enormous Texas skies. Here’s the trailer:

National Geographic’s photos of the year recap on my local PBS station. The photos are stunning on their own, but I loved hearing the stories behind the images from the photographers. My favorite of the bunch is the fifth one in this slideshow, a shot taken in southeast Australia by Amy Toensing.

Spring. For the first time in months, we have beach weather in San Diego (contrary to popular belief, you wouldn’t want to hit the beach on the average winter day here). Throw in the extra hour of daylight we got last weekend with daylight savings and I’m one happy Southern Californian.

I love Jeff Bridges, I love the man who to me made the imortal DUDE from big lewboski. He was awsome in that and he is great in this one too. Crazy heart is a movie you feel like you’ve seen before (the wrestler) but to me that’s not such a bad thing. I love this movie and I don’t even like country music but the cast took me in and never gave me away:) A truly awsome movie. Go see it;)
