I loved touching down in Whitehorse, the capital of Canada’s Yukon territory, and being surprised by some of its more “worldly” touches—pho, sushi, Starbucks—and the way they sit comfortably alongside a definite frontier vibe in this onetime Gold Rush boomtown.

This week I was in New York staying with some friends from Cleveland, and they showed me this awesome “Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video.”

The first attempt is funny too.

An official airline of rappers and travel writers? On an Air Berlin flight to JFK this week, I met Ja Rule and his 8-foot-tall entourage. He was in first class while his posse shared economy with me (they can really snore). I’d never flown Air Berlin before and it was, fo shizzle, a nice ride. When I heard his travel schedule—Georgia, Germany and, next week, Dubai—I told Ja Rule he should be a travel writer. He gave me a hearty I’ll-stick-to-rapping laugh.

My first Baltic Sea sunset. The beach in Dźwirzyno, Poland, was still hopping with families out for a stroll and late night joggers at 10 p.m. when I snapped this shot.

I loved going to the dentist this week. First, because my hygienist was from Moldova, and it was the first time I’ve ever met someone from Moldova. Second, my dentist does her part to save an endangered travel tradition: She sends her appointment reminders via scenic postcards. Like this one:

I prefer nature to bustling metropolises, so my recent love affair with Berlin was out of the ordinary. A creative city celebrating its artistic vibe while memorializing a turbulent past, Berlin was inspiring—and a living history museum for millennials like me not old enough to vividly remember the Cold War. My must-do’s include: the delightfully funny Cirque-style acrobatics show Soap, lunch atop the Reichstag, an underground tour of the ghost stations, biking the Wall’s remnants, and a night—or many—out devouring the club scene until breakfast the next day.

I enjoyed the hostel that I called home for two nights in Santa Monica, California. It was clean, had free Wi-Fi on the lower floors, a small library and a courtyard with a fountain. Best of all, it was just a few blocks from the Pacific. I snapped this shot between Santa Monica’s beach and Venice Beach:

I loved coming across these cheesy souvenirs in a San Diego shop. I’m not sure how far you could go after filling one of these little jars—they’re just a few inches tall—but it’s a nice idea.

One of my favorite summer running spots in Boulder is Wonderland Lake along the lush green foothills in the city’s north. But the real high comes not from the endorphins or the beautiful scenery but the area’s early-summer collection of baby wildlife. Yesterday my friend and I spotted a small doe and her very tiny newborn fawn in the tall grass along the lake’s shores. The fawn was wobbly but bouncing around its tired mother like a happy, hyper child thrilled to play in the late afternoon rain.

I have been to Cleveland once.Cleveland is a nice place, its very family friendly. If your a sports fan, Indians games are very fun at Progressive Fields. Rock and Roll Hall of fame is also a lot of fun. If you are with children, the children museum is not huge but it is a very enjoyable. If you are in the suburb area of Beachwood/Orange/Solon, the Beachwood Mall and Legacy Village are nice shopping.
