Italy is still the best European country to visit
Ahimsa 01.13.10 | 9:24 AM ET
I haven’t been to Italy and would love to go. Don’t get me wrong. But that was some shortlist! Why not Greece? One could claim it is the Citizen Kane to Italy’s Magnificent Ambersons. Or sticking with that analogy, why not Egypt? That’s really where Orson (or culture and civilization) got his start.
Other places in Europe, most notably the UK, Spain, or Germany, might also qualify. In fact, for many Americans i think England represents the overly-hyped must see place that is must see. It’s at least in the conversation.
Anyway, great idea. I’d like to see more comparisons of movies to countries.

Yes, Italy is still the best European Country to visit.
I grew up in Cape Town, then came to visit the land of my parents….. I am still here, totally in love with Italy, and Abruzzo region. In fact I called my company Abruzzo Passion.

Italy has always been on my mind for travel. I’ve made 3 or 4 trips to Europe so far in my life and have yet to go there because I never thought I could adequately spend enough time in Italy. That’s why I’m planning to go to Italy during my RTW trip later this year. I’ll finally be able to dedicate the right amount of time there to really experience the culture.

There are some fun ways to visit Italy .... like becoming ecoist.

Considering Italy rich history and religious heritage it should be on any traveler list to visit Italy at least once to explore Italy tradition, culture and fooood! Calcata is a very nice small small place sitting on a hill a short drive north of Rome with a dramatic view of the valley below. Great for a day trip from rome and to enjoy real homey food.
Ciao from Rome
