imageOne year from today marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road.” Viking Press, the original publisher, plans a special uncensored version of the book, and World Hum will observe the milestone, too, in our own uncensored way. But today, for the 49th anniversary of the classic road novel, we’ll leave you with Garrison Keillor’s quick overview of the book today on The Writer’s Almanac, a story about Kerouac’s Mexico in El Paso’s Newspaper Tree yesterday and the words of Bob Dylan, who said, “I read On the Road in maybe 1959. It changed my life like it changed everyone else’s.” Happy anniversary, Sal, Dean and Jack.
