Pilot’s Gun Fires on US Airways Flight

Details are sketchy about the incident, which took place Saturday in the cockpit of a US Airways flight from Denver to Charlotte. The Charlotte Observer reports, however, that it was an accident and nobody was hurt.

The pilot of the Airbus A319, who hasn’t been named, apparently “was allowed to carry the firearm as part of the Federal Flight Deck Officer program run by the Transportation Security Administration.” The TSA and Federal Air Marshals are investigating.

I wonder if the bullet passed through the skin of the aircraft… Would be interesting to hear the black box recording of the cockpit
