Three Travel Tips: Clever Uses for Your Digital Camera
1) Photograph where you park at the airport. Or even the address and location of your hotel or hostel, so if you can’t find your way home you can show a cabbie. “Instead of jotting your parking location on a scrap of paper, which can get misplaced, take a picture of the parking location sign with your camera phone or digital camera.”—Joanne Grisham, Executive Assistant, Dallas/Fort Worth, from American Airlines Employee Travel Tips. 2) Photograph your children as a safety precaution. “While on vacation, I take a digital photo of our daughter each day. That way, if she gets lost, I have a picture that shows exactly what she is wearing.”—Stacy Walker, Terry, Miss., from Budget Travel. 3) No mirror? Photograph yourself instead. Sometimes travelers find themselves in places without mirrors or other reflective surfaces. Take a photo of yourself to do a spot check before going out into the public. “I was viewing the photos of my friend’s trip to Europe on his web page, and there is one picture that he took of himself, captioned ‘I had just eaten a hotdog, and could not find a mirror to see if I had mustard on my face...’ High technology replaces the common reflective surface.”—Verminius Rex, at Digital Photography For What It’s Worth.

It’s also good to photograph the signs of the restaurants where you ate, or the name of the tourist spot you visited. It would be an effective way to remember which spot you visited. :) By Michelle on 5.21.08 at 03:14 AM
