It, too, has drawn scrutiny from “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling. The author’s “agents have asked to see a copy of In Search of Harry Potter before it is published next month to ensure it does not breach copyright,” according to the Times of London.
Steve Vander Ark, who recently lost a legal battle to publish a book version of the Harry Potter Lexicon, says his book will cover his travels to, among other Harry Potter-related places, King’s Cross station and the alleged location of Hogwarts. He says the home of the fictional school is on Rannoch Moor (pictured).

Writers don’t normally need permission to do the “following in the footsteps of” thing, do they? It’s a pretty standard travel book set-up, isn’t it?
I’d be curious to see how this turns out. The movies have been filmed in so many locations that it’s almost hard to avoid them - I made it to a handful without even trying.

First she’s poor as a doormouse. And now she spends all her time defending all that wealth. :) Wouldn’t it be easier to just demand a royalty from Vander Ark’s publisher?

I’m sorry if I offend anyone with this comment, but dose this man intend to spend the rest of his working life living off the fame of someone else hard work. I wouldn’t be suprised if he had several Harry Potter books on the go. I wonder which author he’ll exploit once Harry Potter has dried up.

The man is a parasite, trying to live off the reflected fame of others.
Why doesn’t he writehis own story?

Van Der Ark spent an awful lot of time working on the Harry Potter Lexicon website, for which he did not receive one single penny. I’d suggest you look it up and see how much hard work went into that.
I’m buying his book!
