Jack Kerouac: Canadian Icon?

The New York Times Idea of the Day blog points to an essay in The Walrus that suggests the iconic American traveler and writer Jack Kerouac—or Jean-Louis, as he was named at birth—was “Québécois to the core.”

Of course Kerouac was Quebecois to the core. I don’t know why this is is such a surprise or revelation to article writers and people in general. All you have to do is read his books, particularly Dr. Sax or Visions of Gerard. It’s all there….in his own words, as always.
