JT Leroy: The Post-Outing Reaction

The New York Times story exposing novelist and travel writer JT Leroy as a woman has stirred up a media brouhaha. New York Magazine issued a press release saying, hey, we had the scoop three months ago.
And Leroy’s literary agent tells GalleyCat that whoever dreamed up Leroy’s HIV-positive former truck-stop prostitute turned writer backstory is “morally reprehensible.” Leroy has yet to address the revelations about himself/herself.
