Lizards and Jackals Storm Runway in New Delhi

The animals were looking for refuge from monsoon rains, and they found it on the runway at Indira Gandhi International Airport yesterday. For a while, at least.
CNN reports dozens of flights were delayed before animal rescuers “rounded up the critters and moved them to habitats outside airport property.” The BBC says the Airport Authority of India refused to discuss the incident, believing “any unforeseen closure of Delhi airport sent the wrong signals at a time when India was trying to project itself as a modern country.”
