Melbourne Man Jailed in Frequent Flyer Scam

Austin Perrott took advantage of computer system irregularities to amass 17.6 million frequent flyer miles on nine different airlines. Today he was sentenced to six years in jail.

According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Perrott was selling the miles to support his family. The judge in the case, Roy Punshon, estimated the street value of the miles at $400,000 Australian.
