The Los Angeles Times counts down the 25 best L.A. movies of the last 25 years. To make the list, a “movie had to communicate some inherent truth about the L.A. experience,” writes Geoff Boucher. The top pick: L.A. Confidential.

So glad to see that Clueless, Swingers, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit made the list!

And no argument from me on LA Confidential hitting #1…

I’ll argue with LA Confidential hitting No. 1. No way it’s a better LA movie than The Player or the Big Lebowski or Boogie Nights. Or even Swingers.

I’m just glad they didn’t celebrate Crash too much. It only just made the list. It’s not just a bad LA movie, it’s a bad movie.

Yes, Crash sucks. But Mike, no love for LA Confidential? Granted, it’s no Double Indemnity or Chinatown or Sunset Boulevard, but if we’re talkin’ the past 25 years, yeah, it’s #1.
