So says Hiroshi Nohara, a Japanese citizen who “for reasons he cannot explain,” has been calling Mexico City’s international airport home for the past three months.

Noharo is certainly not the first traveler to call Airworld home for a spell, and been able to survive off of meal donations from some enterprising food court vendors—they also offer Noharo branded gear to wear during what have become his frequent press interviews.

I take it from Jim’s comment that I’m not the only one finding this kind of cool? Can’t imagine he’s slept very well though.

I don’t like to be a downer here but having lived in Japan for a few years as an expat, I experienced firsthand the need for the acceptance of, and treatment for, mental illness and homelessness. This story actually made me kind of sad.
