I just finished reading (and thoroughly enjoyed) your Lost Continent, which of course you wrote 20 years ago so probably feel little responsibility for anymore; however I was struck by numerous inconsistencies, particularly that you make fun of Kentuckians for mispronouncing place-names of French origin—how about our pronunciation of Des Moines in the mouths of the original French settlers, it would be quite a different-sounding name!
