‘Sweeping Review of Airport Security Screening’ Underway

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff told USA Today that the Transportation Security Administration will review screening systems in the U.S. during the next month and a half.

Chertoff told the paper: “We’re going to see if we can maybe make a couple of significant changes to remove some of the burden.” Those changes, he said, “may actually be welcomed by the travelers.”

We’ll see.

The Airport Security rules and the no fly list are a total mess, and it’s gonna take more than a few tweaks to fix it. Scrapping the entire Homeland Security Department may possibly solve the problem, but it’s still doubtful, considering the same jokers like Chertoff and former FEMA chief Michael Brown will still be around.
