imageThe Book Passage Travel Writers & Photographers Conference, which earns rave reviews from participants, takes place once again this year, running Aug. 17-20 in Corte Madera, near San Francisco. The faculty will include Tim Cahill, John Flinn, Larry Habegger, Jeff Greenwald, Larry Bleiberg, Amy Tan and many others. Michael Shapiro, also on the faculty, will be blogging from the conference for World Hum. Lonely Planet editor Don George, co-founder and chairman of the conference, told me that participants will find more than just highly structured workshops. “With other writers conferences I’ve been to you have the structured stuff and then the faculty goes off on their own,” he said. “In this one, the faculty is around all the time, having coffee and hanging out, and everybody is approachable. That’s one of the hallmarks of the conference that I’m most happy about.”
