And the No. 2 Most Memorable Quote of 2007 is…

According to the editor of the Yale Book of Quotations, it’s Miss Teen South Carolina’s “tortuous” and now-infamous answer to a question about Americans being unable to locate the U.S. on a map:

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and Iraq and everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for us.

Another semi-travel related quote (the event that prompted it did happen in an airport) made the list at #8: Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig’s “(I have) a wide stance when going to the bathroom.”

The No. 1 quote? University of Florida student Andrew Meyer’s statement while being removed from a speech given by Democratic Sen. John Kerry: “Don’t Tase Me, Bro.”

I copied this from another site - then I checked, sure enough, Craig never said the words “wide stance”

Here is the unedited interview with Larry Craig.

No where does he utter the words “wide stance” - so for those who believe they know that truth, based on what they have read in the press - this most basic detail being reported everywhere incorrectly should make you wonder

So the “wide stance” quote is sort of like Al Gore’s quote that he invented the Internet?

Next you’re going to tell me there’s no Santa Claus!

Watching that poor girl at the miss
America pagent was painfully uncomfortable.  I must admit I felt very sorry for the girl!

To see what she actually said is hilarious though.  The poor girl was like a deer caught in headlights!

I think the reason other countries are so big on geography is that they want to get “out” of where they are and USA doesn’t care about anywhere but the USA. Simple as that.

That Tase thing is funny though. LOL.
