Yahoo!, Current Debut “Traveler” Video Channel

Yahoo! Current Traveler, one of four channels launched this week by the partnership between the Internet giant and the Al Gore-backed upstart cable network, features amateur and professional travel videos—and, perhaps in a category all by himself, videos by U2’s Bono.
His three-part series “A Day in the Life of The Edge in Miami” helped kick off Traveler this week. Here’s today’s installment, part two:
Other early videos include a relatively mundane Peru overview, a tour of Dubai and this funny animated trip “Around the World with the Ugly American”:
The creators of Yahoo! Current bill the collaboration as a grown-up alternative to YouTube. Nice idea. Let’s see if they can pull it off.
